Everything here is counted from data we have already read. Both lists are short today; that is the honest answer, not a failure of the page.

Cities with a guide

Where we have read the whole local register, not just one company.

Longest records

Most fiscal years read — the companies whose development you can actually follow.

How this is made

Read from the filed documents, not bought from a database

Brønnøysundregistrene publishes annual accounts as scanned PDFs — images, with no text in them. Every figure here was read off those scans by machine, then checked: the balance sheet has to balance, and where the register publishes a structured figure for the same year, that one wins.

4 379documents read
8 704company-years extracted
2013–2026fiscal years covered
94.7%of balance sheets reconcile

Largest by revenue

By the newest year we hold. A measurement, not a judgement.

Growing revenue

Revenue higher in the newest year we hold than in the oldest.

The whole register, one city

Oslo

We hold filed accounts for 84 667 of the 197 691 companies registered here — 43% of the city. The guide is built from all of them, not from a sample.

The corpus is still being read; these came in last.

A sample of the companies whose accounts we have read, longest record first. A company appears once we have read at least two fiscal years for it.
